Sub-Groups
Walking Group
Our Sub-Groups manage themselves via WhatsApp groups or Email. Any Holmfirth WI member can join any of these Sub-Groups and anyone can propose an activity. Activities can be advertised on Eventbrite, just email holmfirthwimedia@gmail.com with the full event details and our Graphics Team will create an advert for you. All Sub-Group joining information is in the Members Only section.
All members are welcome to join our Walking Group. Whether you're an experienced walker or if you're fairly new to walking there'll be something for everyone as it's the Walking Group members who arrange these walks in our glorious countryside. WhatsApp joining details can be found in the Members Only section. All walks will be advertised on Eventbrite and details arranged via WhatsApp, these must be booked in advance.
All members are welcome to join in with any of our Craft events, even if you've never done craft before. These events are super social activities and we try to provide a wide variety of activities throughout the year. All Craft sessions must be booked and paid for in advance on Eventbrite. Feel free to join the WhatsApp So Crafty group in the Members Only section to arrange/suggest future craft activities, arrange car share to booked events, or just share your love of craft.
Have you ever wanted to go to an event but didn't fancy it on your own? Well, just do a shout out on out new Something Social Sub-Group. This is a WhatsApp group for members who are interested Theatre, Cinema, Dining out, Concerts, Exhibitions or other interesting events. If you want your suggested event advertising on Eventbrite, just contact our graphics team. WhatsApp joining details can be found in the Members Only section.
All members are welcome to join the Book Club. All 'Selected Book' meetings will be held 2.30pm - 3.30pm on the first Sunday of alternate months with each intermediate month being used for members to discuss other books they have read or are currently reading. Meetings are currently taking place in central Holmfirth and are advertised on Eventbrite. Joining details can be found in the Members Only section.
All members are welcome to join our Flower and Veg Patch Group whether you have a large allotment or a small garden, or indeed nothing at all! This is a WhatsApp group for members who are interested in gardening and growing their own veg. We share information, gardening tips and ask for advice. We also enjoy meeting up in each others gardens for a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake and have started enjoying visits to local Gardens. All members are welcome to join our new Campaigns & Community Group. This is a WhatsApp group for members who are interested in Campaigns and Resolutions side of the WI and may like to get involved in some 'gentle activism' such as litter-picking or craftivism. WhatsApp joining details can be found in the Members Only section and we will advertise our events on Eventbrite.
